1. About M&G Workshop
WHO WE ARE
Marina Antonova and Guy Albouy are the Directors of the one of the most recognized International Ballet Summer School organized in association with Palucca University of Dance, Dresden. They also teach at Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm.
Prior to become ballet teachers, Marina Antonova and Guy Albouy as Principal dancers have had a long, highly successful and creative career, being recognized and dancing worldwide with International Ballet Companies, in International Ballet Gala’s and Dance Festivals.
OUR CHALLENGE (AND YOUR OPPORTUNITY)
Our program is designed to assist young talents from all over the world to enhance their abilities and skills and enter the wonderful world of the professional dance. Every year we receive over 600 applications from more than 50 countries of the world to attend our Summer School in Dresden. However, for all practical reasons, we can accept only 200 participants (30 of which are invited on our own scholarships). And since all applications received online, we do have an oppotunity to learn more about applicants and their needs – something we would LOVE to do when we have a chance.
2. Why & How to Attend
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
During the course of four days of intensive studies we offer classes in three different areas of dance:
- Classic Ballet / Pas De Deux Techniques taught by Marina and Guy
- Modern Ballet – Nyko Piscopo, Founder and Choreographer, Accademia de Visuviano, Napoli
- Special Gymnastics for Ballet Dancers (Gyrotonic System® and Gyrokinesis®) – Leopoldo Guadagno, Certified Gyrotronic and Gyrokenesis trainer
WORKSHOP FORMAT
We designed a comprehensive four-day format for two age groups:
- “Intermediate” (12-14 years old, boys and girls), up to 25 positions, and
- “Advanced” (15-18 years old, boys and girls), up to 30 positions
During the event each participant will have a chance to participate in the following activities:
- Meet and work with all our teachers
- Be introduced to the advanced level technics and training in contemporary ballet education
- Participate in evaluation and receive teachers recommendations on how to improve your skills and careers
