Yannick Boquin received his dance education at the Paris Opera Ballet School and the National Conservatoire of Paris.He danced as a principal dancer with:
- Bonn Opera Ballet
- Royal Ballet of Flanders
- Rome Opera Ballet
- Deutsche Oper Berlin
Over his career he has been the recipient of the following prizes:
- 1st Prize of the Conservatoire of Paris (1981),
- Gold Medal at the Houlgate Competition (1985),
- Gold Medal at the International Competition in Paris (1987)
- Positano and Leonide Massine Award (1995).
In 2011 he choreographed for the Istanbul State Ballet a two-act ballet, “the sufferances of young Werther” (Göethe) music by Frederic Chopin which was later performed in 2014 by the Greek National Ballet!
He worked as a Ballet Master with the Vienna Opera Ballet from 2004 until 2006. Since then he has worked as a successful freelance teacher with the following companies and schools as a regular guest:
